Academic Research Partnerships

Collaborate with Us on Dream Research

At Root Code Collective, we believe dreams offer a powerful lens into the human mind. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we support academic institutions and interdisciplinary researchers by providing access to anonymized dream data and enabling customized research integrations.

Whether you’re exploring the collective unconscious, cross-cultural dream patterns, or the cognitive impact of sleep, our infrastructure can help.

Two Ways to Work with Us

1. Self-Serve Monthly Data Access

For many researchers, our standard monthly dream datasets offer a rich starting point. These files include geo-tagged, fully anonymized dream logs contributed by users of The Dream Drop, our public-facing dream journaling platform.

If you’re primarily interested in exploring aggregate trends or running retrospective analysis, you can request access to these monthly data dumps directly through The Dream Drop’s research page.

Note: Data use is subject to our Dream Data License Agreement.

2. High-Touch Research Integrations

For institutions with specific research goals, we offer deeper collaborations. These projects can include:

  • Custom in-app survey modules
  • Targeted participant recruitment
  • Longitudinal tracking across demographics or locations
  • Automated data delivery in formats suited to your workflow
  • Ethical and privacy-focused implementation reviews

We’ve already supported research in partnership with leading universities, including an active collaboration with the University of Toronto exploring the intersection of dream content, sleep metrics, and personality psychology.

If you’re designing a study that could benefit from real-world, anonymized dream data or participant engagement via mobile platforms, we’d love to hear from you.
